Children’s Ministry

Through prayer the Children’s Ministry has been lead in a true desire to come alongside families, to encourage, and equip them as they train their children from the earliest age to be with Jesus every day, to know God, love God, obey  God:

  • Know God by learning about Him by studying his word & memorizing his word.

  • Love God by knowing him and talking to him, in praise, thanksgiving, and for help.

  • Obey God because we know and love him and in turn share God with others.

Learning and Worship for children are centered around their involvement.  

Worship  

We encourage children 4 and older in worship and welcome to participate:

  • Flag Ministry

  • Mercy Basket Ministry

  • Acolyte Ministry

  • And Activity bags that correspond with the week’s message to keep them engaged.

The Children's Ministry supports the church's Mission Statement ‘Inward searching, outward seeking, forward together with Jesus Christ’.  Thereby offering the various intergenerational Mission Connection opportunities for children, families, and community: Daily Prayer with Families, College Connection, Focus on Missions for Kids, movie nights and First Priority Kids Clubs in our local schools. 

Missions & Community

Daily Prayer: Scripture based, family oriented prayers are shared daily via text to families that are open to it. Prayers are meant to support and encourage families and get their day started with a positive.

Priority Kids Clubs of Birmingham:

CtK Youth Education staff and volunteers are active in Priority Kids Clubs, an evangelistic outreach ministry that meet once a week in schools in the community.

College Connection:

K- 5th grade support our college students by writing notes & draw pictures that are sent to encourage their “big brothers and sisters” in Christ throughout the school year.

Focus on Missions : The 3rd Wednesday of the month.  We explore the various missions connected to CtK through guest speakers, presentations and hands-on exploration & service projects.

Nursery: Birth - 3 yrs

  • The nursery is available during both morning worship services:

  • 8:00 a.m. & 10:40 a.m., Sunday school: 9:20 a.m. Wednesday evening worship:6:30 p.m.

  • We have a music-based curriculum designed for learning through movement and play.

Children’s Education 3yrs - 5th

WEDNESDAY 5:45 pm Bible Basics -Learning how important it is, how to navigate, Read, Study, and Apply it!

SUNDAY 9:30 a.m.

  • 3-4 yrs Stories from the Bible using the liturgical calendar scriptures.

  • K- 3rd Jesus Story Book Bible curriculum.

  • 4-5th A Lamp Unto My Feet: An Introduction to the Old & New Testament

Safety and communication are a priority for our families and children. We have policies and practices in place to keep everyone safe and informed.  We have a variety of Social Media options as well as an online Church Newsletter and Children’s Ministry Blog to keep everyone informed about events and activities.
