SENIOR PASTOR CHRISTOPHER DEGREEN

Pastor Chris loves his life at Christ the King Lutheran Church. The fellowship of believers and the Holy Spirit have grown together throughout the years to create a truly unique kind of loving and humble atmosphere. Pastor Chris makes it his mission to get to know each member personally so he can be a part of their faith journey. He often says how much he enjoys being able to refer to each member by name as he serves communion.

He works tirelessly to provide leadership and guidance to the membership of Christ the King, making himself available to anyone in need. Pastor Chris also loves and adores his wife, Amanda, and three children, Calley, Cassidy, and Caden.

Pastor Chris was born and raised in East Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee. In 1990, he received his Master of Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia and also became the Senior Pastor of Christ the King Lutheran Church. He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University in Birmingham in 1998. Pastor Chris’ fervent prayer is that his congregation and those in the community and the world will come to know the blessing that is assured us through a personal relationship with the One who created us, and to have life and have it to the full through the Holy Spirit.
